You choose when Hover looks
Hover reads your screen only when you open it, and Settings spells out what that includes
- It opens when you tap your shortcut, and Esc hides it again
- It reads the window you open it over, even in apps you’ve kept out of Littlebird’s memory. For some apps it also attaches a picture of that window
- Hide From Screen Sharing starts off. Turn it on, and Hover stays out of shared screens and screen captures

How do I turn on Hover?
Install Littlebird on your Mac and switch on Enable Hover during setup, or later in Settings, Hover. Then double-tap Option in any app. You can pick a different shortcut in the same place.
Which plans include Hover?
Every plan, including free. Hover has the same chat modes as the rest of Littlebird, with your plan’s limits.
What can Hover see?
When you open it, Hover reads the window you’re in. For some apps it also attaches a picture of that window. It adds a live meeting or selected text only when you click those pills, another window only when you type @, and a screenshot when you click the camera.
Does Hover skip the apps I’ve excluded?
No. If you open Hover over an app you’ve kept out of Littlebird’s memory, it reads that window because you asked it to, and Settings says so. Hover only looks when you open it, and Esc hides it.
Can people see Hover when I share my screen?
Yes, until you turn on Hide From Screen Sharing in Settings, Hover. It starts off. With it on, Hover stays out of shared screens and screen captures.
Does Hover type or click in my apps?
No. Hover doesn’t type or click in your apps. It pastes an answer only when you choose Paste response or press ⌃V.
Can I keep going in the main window?
Yes. Choose Expand to Main from the Actions menu to continue the chat in Littlebird’s main window. You can also keep several Hover chats going and switch between them from the rail.
Can I ask Hover out loud?
Yes. Turn on Voice Shortcut in Settings, Hover, then tap Option once and hold to speak.
Is Hover on Windows?

Can I use Hover on a work Mac?
Littlebird asks for Accessibility permission when you set it up on a Mac, and Hover reads windows with it. Adding a screenshot with the camera needs Screen Recording permission. Hover sees what’s on screen when you open it, including apps you’ve excluded in Privacy Controls. For your IT team, Littlebird is SOC 2 Type II compliant, and the details are in our Trust Center.
