Today’s daily note has two open to-dos and one decision.

  • To-dos: send Avery the interview notes, and book the offsite venue for March 4.
  • Decision: the Perch & Partners pilot starts with two teams.
  • Worth a follow-up: your idea for a shorter onboarding email.

The problem

A daily note fills up fast with meeting scraps, half ideas and to-dos written in passing. Without a second look, the important lines get buried under tomorrow’s note.

What it does

Every weekday at 6 pm, this routine reads today’s daily note in your Obsidian vault and pulls out what you’d want to see again: open to-dos, decisions and ideas worth a follow-up.

You get one short digest in Littlebird, or by text. Your computer needs to be on with Littlebird running.

Try the prompt

Copy it into a new Littlebird routine, then set the days and times that fit your schedule

  1. Open Littlebird and go to Routines. Open the menu next to New Routine and choose Set up manually.
  2. Paste the prompt into Instructions, then set the days and time under Run.
  3. Littlebird runs it on schedule from then on. You can pause or edit it anytime. Auto-pause is on by default and pauses it if reports go unread.

You can also choose Create with Littlebird and describe the routine in chat.

Why make it a routine?

A chat can sum up your daily note only after you copy it in.

This routine reads the note in your vault on its own every weekday at 6 pm and sends you the digest.

Frequently asked questions

Does my computer need to be on?

Yes. The routine reads your vault while your computer is on with Littlebird running. If your computer is asleep, the routine waits for it, for up to about a day, and the digest arrives once your computer is back.

Where does the routine find my daily note?

In the vault you chose when you connected Obsidian. If your daily notes live in a folder, name the folder in the prompt.

What does the routine cost?

Routines run on every plan, including the free one, and Obsidian connects on every plan too.

Is my data private?

Littlebird is SOC 2 Type II compliant, and your data is never sold.
