Littlebird and Dropbox Integration Overview

You're trying to find "the contract Sarah mentioned in Slack last Tuesday" or "the deck from the client call." You open Dropbox, stare at folder names, try the search bar with a guess at the filename, get nothing useful, then start clicking through folders. Five minutes gone.

Littlebird reads your screen and transcribes your meetings. It builds a private, encrypted index of recent activity: the Slack thread where Sarah named the file, the meeting where the client said "I'll send the latest version to the shared folder." That context is yours to search with. You ask in plain language, "find the contract Sarah mentioned", and Littlebird searches Dropbox on demand. You ask what you remember, and Littlebird finds what you need.

What Littlebird finds

Search Dropbox by filename, folder, or content

Littlebird can search Dropbox by filename, folder, or content, so you ask in plain language instead of guessing exact names. You ask in Chat, "find the Q3 deck" or "where's the contract draft", and Littlebird runs the search on demand. It can retrieve file metadata (filename, folder, modified date) and read file contents to answer your question, so you get the right file without opening Dropbox.

List files in a folder

Littlebird can list files in a folder, so you ask "what's in the Q3 Reports folder" and get the list without opening Dropbox. You're looking for a file someone mentioned, but you're not sure which folder it's in. Littlebird pulls the list and you see it.

Check file revision history

It can check file revision history, so when you need to know if the contract changed since last week, Littlebird pulls the revision list. You ask "did the contract get updated" and get the answer grounded in Dropbox's own version history.

Read file contents to answer questions

Littlebird can read file contents to answer your question. When you ask "what does the contract say about payment terms," Littlebird reads the file and pulls the answer. You get the information without opening the file yourself.

Get file and folder metadata

Littlebird can retrieve file and folder metadata: filename, folder path, modified date, file size. You ask "when was the contract last updated" and Littlebird pulls the metadata from Dropbox to answer you.

What Littlebird does

Export a file for offline work

Littlebird can export a file when you ask it to pull a PDF or a doc for offline work. You're heading into a meeting and need the deck on hand. You ask Littlebird to export it, and it's ready.

All the content I produce starts with Littlebird. It sits in the background, capturing the conversations that matter, so nothing gets lost in the details of a meeting or the bottom of my inbox.

How it works

You connect Dropbox via OAuth. Littlebird requests read access to files and folders: only the permissions it needs to search and retrieve what you ask for. Littlebird doesn't store your Dropbox files. It queries Dropbox on demand when you ask a question, pulls the metadata or content it needs to answer you, and that's it. The memory Littlebird builds from your screen and meetings (the private, encrypted index of recent activity) is stored in AWS, but your Dropbox files stay in Dropbox.

Littlebird also works on its own, without integrations, paying attention to your active window and transcribing meetings without a bot on the call. You control what it does. Pause context collection, exclude apps, or delete your data at any time. Nothing is collected without your permission.

Privacy

The app runs on your computer. The memory it builds is encrypted and stored in the AWS cloud.

  • Encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). AWS KMS manages encryption keys.
  • SOC 2 certified, independently audited. GDPR and CCPA compliant data handling policies.
  • Littlebird never sells your data and never trains models on your data.
  • Delete your data, or your entire account, at any time.

Frequently asked

Does Littlebird index my Dropbox files automatically?

No. Littlebird queries Dropbox on demand when you ask a question. It doesn't index or store your files.

What permissions does Littlebird need?

Read access to files and folders. You connect via OAuth, and Littlebird requests only what it needs to search Dropbox and retrieve the files or metadata you ask for.

Can Littlebird read file contents or just metadata?

Both. It can retrieve metadata (filename, folder, modified date) and read file contents to answer your question. When you ask "what does the contract say about payment terms," Littlebird reads the file and pulls the answer.

Does Littlebird record my screen or take screenshots?

No. Littlebird reads your screen and transcribes your meetings, but it doesn't record video or take screenshots. It's not a keylogger. It's designed to ignore password fields, and password managers like 1Password and Bitwarden are auto-excluded by default.
