Questions about Littlebird and iMessage
What does connecting iMessage add?
Search, read and send messages from your Mac Littlebird uses iMessage when you ask in Chat, when a routine you set up runs and when it prepares you for a meeting. Even before you connect it, Littlebird sees iMessage when it’s the active window on your screen, unless you exclude it.
Is this the same as texting Littlebird in iMessage?
No. You can text Littlebird in iMessage from your iPhone with a Mac, a Windows computer or no computer at all. Connecting iMessage is a separate step that lets Littlebird search, read and send your own texts through Messages on your Mac, so it needs a Mac with Messages signed in.
Does my Mac need to be on?
Yes. Littlebird reaches iMessage while your Mac is on, awake and online with Littlebird running, even with the Littlebird window closed. If your Mac is asleep or off, Littlebird tells you, and a scheduled routine that needs iMessage waits for your Mac to come back, for up to about a day.
What does Littlebird need on my Mac?
Littlebird needs Messages signed in on your Mac and Full Disk Access, which macOS requires before an app like Littlebird can read your Messages history. Littlebird takes you to that setting when you connect iMessage. The first time Littlebird sends a message, macOS also asks you to let Littlebird control Messages.
When does Littlebird read my messages?

Littlebird is both my personal assistant and researcher. It’s simply the best personal productivity tool I’ve ever tried.
